Making things look pretty without templates

This design was super simple yet modern and creative. I wanted to include a slideshow and focus on an image-heavy design. I wanted less color so all the tattoos would stand out. I think this is a smart and simple design.

The image PDF'ed weird, but this is a dark design for a dark story. I wanted one central image with all of the things that may cause uneasiness or depression within a teenager. I represented the topic well with graphics and a photo.

It was tough trying to come up with a creative design for cold and flu season. I went to find out what an actual flu virus looked like, and drew some inspiration from there. I wanted a side column to separate the two topics as well.

I wanted to represent the teachers' struggles through a timeline, but related it to being books. I included images as well as text to make it less hard on the eye and pulled out a quote for extra emphasis.

I physically took the line tool to InDesign and drew a silhouette of a woman's head. I wanted to express my lack of vision, so I put a red box over where my eyes would be, and created a gallery of images with another story to go with them.

I created a simplistic design so that the statistics and facts are highlighted on the left side of the spread. I created the injury anatomy to give the reader a better visual picture of injuries and set the statistics right underneath,

I created a design that honored a memorable slideshow of events that took place during homecoming. I made a photo strip highlighting reach part of the week and the class colors on the other side. I also used sub headers to separate the different events.
